Applications are open for the 2021-2022 school year.

Thank you for your interest in our school. The application enrollment period for the 2021 -2022 school year has begun.

The process this year is different, as we are now partnered with RI Department of Education to provide a common application for all RI schools. For more information about this process, click here

EnrollRI offers two resources to begin the application process. The first is the Family Information Tool (FIT), accessible here. The second is the common application itself, accessible here. These resources become available on December 1, 2020.

How does it work?

Use the Family Information Tool (FIT) to find the school(s) that meets the performance, accessibility, and programmatic targets you are seeking. Next, use the EnrollRI Common Application to apply to any participating charter schools you are interested in and for which your child is eligible to attend. Participating charter schools will hold their 2021-2022 admissions lotteries on April 1 or after and will communicate your student’s enrollment status soon after that time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the elementary front desk at 401-272-5094 ext. 401

Why we switched:

EnrollRI was launched to ensure that access to Rhode Island Department of Education schools and programs remains easy, safe, and accessible for all families, even as we face the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Learn more about EnrollRI participating programs for the 2020-2021 school year, and access program family information tools and resources at EnrollRI.org.

Enrollment in a charter public school is nonselective and conducted by random lottery. Participating charter schools will share a common application for the 2021-2022 school application process.

TIMES2 Academy is a charter public school, open to any student in grades kindergarten through 12 living in Providence, Rhode Island. By RI law and regulations from the RI Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, students are admitted by lottery.

For kindergarten, the lottery determines the students for the upcoming school year. For grades 1-12, it determines the wait list pool for the upcoming year. In order to participate in the lottery, an application must be completed online on the EnrollRI website.

Students must be residents of Providence, and 5 years old as of September 1st to enter Kindergarten. Parents must provide birth certificates of the applicant to be considered for enrollment.

Admission Timeline

We are partnered with the Rhode Island Department of Education to allow for an easier and more streamlined application process. Applications are open December 1 and will close on March 18, 2021 at 5 PM.

The lottery will run on April 1, 2021.

Acceptance Process

Once a family has been accepted to TIMES2 Academy, we will send an acceptance letter and required admissions forms will be mailed to students immediately following the lottery. Families are required to return completed forms and documentation within 15 days to confirm acceptance.

Along with completed form, families need to submit the following documents: a copy of birth certificate, current utility bill (dated within 30 days), school record, and special education records such as IEP or 504 documentation. If families do not provide the required documentation within this time, the space may be given to ne next eligible student on the waiting list.

Sibling Preference Policy

TIMES2 Academy no longer holds preference seating for sibling applicants.

Waiting List

Students who apply to the school are not successful in gaining enrolment through the lottery are placed on a wait list in the order in which they were drawn during the lottery. Any family that is on the waitlist when the new enrollment year begins is encouraged to reapply. A new lottery is conducted on a yearly basis; it is not carried over from year to year.
