A 25K grant was awarded to Chuck Watson’s (of URI) continued efforts to promote diversity and inclusion from Verizon to support High School STEM Initiatives for underrepresented students. This grant was afforded to him as a recommendation from Katharine Flynn Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations and Katie McGwin URI Foundation who did a wonderful job in helping craft what is now known as the URI College of Engineering/Verizon STEM Land and Sea Program.
TIMES2 students will benefit by participating in the immersive URI College of Engineering/Verizon STEM Land and Sea Program. It is a tremendous learning opportunity for our students.
TIMES2 STEM Academy hosted the Verizon presentation of the 25K grant on Wednesday, March 9th at 3:30 pm. Several representatives from a number of educational institutions in the state were in attendance.
